Florida's State Academic Standards for Computer Science took effect in July 2024. They are organized into strands that range from computational thinking and programming to emerging technologies, cybersecurity and digital currencies. For districts, the challenge is to teach them consistently in every school, with teachers who are often not computer science specialists.
ROBOTIX C360 gives Florida districts one hands-on K–12 computer science curriculum that brings the strands to life with robots, coding and AI literacy. Students build and program real robots, teachers facilitate, and district leaders see usage and learning by school, grade and class.
Standards crosswalk
How ROBOTIX C360 activities map to the Florida standards.
| Standard concept / strand | In ROBOTIX C360 | Grade band |
|---|---|---|
| Computational Thinking and Reasoning | Students decompose problems, design algorithms and debug real robots in every unit | K–12 |
| Programming and Software Engineering | EasyCode® from block coding to Python; students also build their own videogame and mobile app | 3–12 |
| Computing Components | Sensors, motors, controllers and connected devices | K–12 |
| Communication and Collaboration | Peer-to-peer learning and team projects; students present their work | K–12 |
| Emerging Technologies | The AI literacy layer: what AI is, how it learns and how to use it responsibly | 3–12 |
| Technological Impact | How technology and AI shape daily life, and who benefits | K–12 |
| Personal Health and Safety; Cybersecurity | Digital citizenship, privacy and safe practices | K–12 |
Grade bands
Florida's standards are set grade by grade, from kindergarten to 12th grade. ROBOTIX C360 follows a matching progression: screenless robots and unplugged activities up to 4th grade, then block coding, then Python, with the right robot at each age.
Implementation timeline
- Discovery and standards mapping. We review your grade bands, schedule, existing robots and priorities, and share the standards crosswalk for your state.
- Kickoff and in-class training. Teachers start with ready-to-teach units, with ROBOTIX guides beside them in the classroom.
- District rollout by grade band. Every school follows the same pathway, with your existing robots or ours.
- Data review with district leaders. Dashboards show usage and learning by school, grade and class, with a personalized strategy for every student.
- Expand. Add grade bands, schools or the AI literacy layer based on the evidence.
Teacher professional development
Your teachers don't need to be coders. ROBOTIX guides come to your classrooms in person and support teachers during real lessons, so training turns into practice instead of staying in a workshop. Every unit comes with a lesson plan and a teacher guide, and EasyLesson® lets teachers adapt sessions in minutes.
- In-person training in methodology and robotics, in the teacher's own classroom
- Teachers facilitate: peer-to-peer learning, trial and error as a method, the robot gives clues
- Automatic code assessment, so teachers spend their time with students, not correcting code
- Proactive follow-up from our customer success team, all year
